MUSKAAN SCHOOL PROJECT

Children with oral health problem are 3 times more likely to miss school due to dental pain than children with no oral health problems. Majority of children do not brush their teeth twice daily.

About 50% of school children are suffering from dental caries.

They can be prevented and controlled by education and motivation to a significant level. Poor oral and dental health negatively affects growth, development and learning, nutrition, communication, self-esteem and much more. Our team visit schools and make students and staff aware about importance of oral and dental health through awareness sessions with help of educational aids, models , posters, quizzes.
Also, under this project we provide them oral and dental screening to make them understand about their oral health and hygiene status.

BAMBOO MUSKAANS

This is our ECOFRIENDLY INITIATIVE of switching to bamboo from plastic.

What’s the first thing you touch in morning? Yes, it’s your toothbrush. Have you ever thought that plastic should be first thing you should use every day? YES, that plastic which is main cause of polluting environment.
So, do you want to contribute in saving environment with your daily routine?
Plastic tooth brushes are 2 nd largest plastic waste generation after plastic bags. Only in India more than 150 million plastic tooth brushes throw into garbage every month which are made from petroleum-based plastic which doesn’t biodegrade for thousands of years. Through this project, our team is making efforts to make communities aware about switching from plastic to bamboo, as bamboo is grass which is biodegradable thus reducing large quantity of environment pollution and also don’t lead to
deforestation.

Oral cancer is important health issue in India which can develop in any part of the mouth. It is important to be aware of following signs if they don’t disappear in 2-3 weeks.

  • A sore or irritation that don’t subside or go away
  • Red and white patches
  • Difficulty in eating, swallowing, speaking or moving jaw or tongue
  • A lump, spot, bulge, or eroded area
  • Loose teeth

INDIA HAS LARGEST NUMBER OF ORAL CANCER CASES. Tobacco consumption including smokeless tobacco, betel quid chewing, excessive alcohol consumption, poor oral hygiene, nutrient-deficient diet and sustained viral infections i.e., human papillomavirus (HPV) are some of the risks associated with occurrence of oral cancer.
Tobacco consumption in India has been the predominant factor causing oral cancer.  The continual uses of tobacco in various form such as gutka, zarda, mawa, kharra, khaini, cigarettes, bidi, hookah, etc. is a major cause of tumor development in the oral cavity in both young as well as the adult Indian population.
